Edward DeLone Wester, 50, of Williford, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 18, 1973. Edward was a veteran having served his country in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Combat Engineer. Sgt. Wester was awarded many medals during his time in the Army which were the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal as well as Army Service ribbon and Combat Action badge. Sgt. Wester, who was 'Sarge' to his friends, also earned the distinguished nickname of Fast Eddie thanks to his incredible driving skills.
Edward loved watching sports. He was particularly fond of the New England Patriots. He loved fishing, listening to music, playing darts, and karaoke. He loved spending time with his children, working on cars and basically being the family jokster. Being on stage with country singer Toby Keith was also a highlight of his life.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Montgomery, and brother, Jeffery Montgomery. He is survived by his son, Justin Barber of Cave City; daughter, Kourtlin Wester of Pleasant Plains; son, Creighton Wester of Conway; three grandchildren; father, Garry Montgomery of Jonesboro; and sisters Laura Napolitano of Lancaster, Massachusetts and Kali Julian of Duluth, Minnesota.
A graveside funeral with military honors will be Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 11 AM at Cardwell Cemetery in Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please honor Edward with memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
