Dorothy Mae Akins

Dorothy Mae Womble Akins, 97, formerly of Paragould, passed away Thursday in Little Rock. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith. Dorothy always enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and playing Bridge. She was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Mae Fahland Womble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William T. Akins; a granddaughter; and 5 brothers.

Survivors include her children, Lesta (Hoyt) Higgins of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Susie (Jerry) Baugh of Little Rock, Bill (Karen) Akins of Benton, and Bob (Culla) Akins of Little Rock; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Saturday from 1-2 pm at Heath Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will begin shortly after 2 pm at Greene County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joe Marsden officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Dorothy's grandchildren.
