Listen to Obituary

Deborah Wane Miles, known affectionately as "Debbie," departed this world on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 76. Born in Paragould, Arkansas, to the late Floyd and Mayo Matthews, Debbie lived a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and profession.

Debbie graduated from Paragould High School in 1967 and pursued her education at Draughon Business College in Memphis, where she earned an Associate's degree in business. Her career spanned several decades in the banking industry, where she held positions at Security Bank, Union Planters Bank, Regions Bank, First National Bank, and ultimately concluded her career at Texas Bank. In addition to her banking work, she spent time in human resources at LA Darling Store Fixtures.

Debbie was a woman of deep faith, and her love for music was evident from a young age. She played the piano in church as she was growing up and found joy in listening to and performing old hymns from the Heavenly Highway Hymnal. A truly devoted grandmother, she cherished the time spent teaching her grandchildren to play the piano, instilling in them a love for music that will echo across generations.  A devoted follower of her faith, Debbie was a member of the Baptist church. For the last eight years, she attended First Baptist Church in Stephensville, Texas, where her son Kevin was a minister. Her faith and community involvement were a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.

Debbie was a woman of many interests. She found immense joy in planting flowers and tending to her beloved garden, particularly fond of purple blooms while holding a strong dislike for carnations-she even requested that no carnations be sent to her funeral. She cherished moments spent cooking and baking with her grandchildren, fostering memories that will be treasured by generations to come.

An avid participant in her Sunday School class, Debbie enjoyed her weekly Joker games and looked forward to daily excursions to Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A, relishing the joy of simply browsing through the aisles. She also shared a special bond with her loyal dog, Cody, her beloved cockapoo.

Debbie leaves behind her two devoted sons, Brian (Ludivine) Miles of Jonesboro and Kevin (Angela) Miles of Cleburne, Texas, and her cherished grandchildren, Timothy, Austin, Kristina, and John Miles. Each of them carries forward the love and lessons she imparted throughout her life.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026. A visitation will be from 9-10 AM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10 AM with Rev. Joe Marsden officiating. Afterward, she will be laid to rest at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, where family and friends may gather to pay their final respects.

In celebrating her life, we remember a woman who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
