With heavy hearts, we announce the upcoming celebration of the life of Danny W. Rogers, a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and cherished member of the Paragould community. Danny, born on March 29, 1952, in Paragould, peacefully passed from this life on February 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be treasured. He graduated from Paragould High School in 1970 and married the love of his life, Georgia Witcher, on June 5, 1970.
Embracing his passion for service, Danny dedicated 23 fulfilling years to the Paragould Fire Department, culminating his career as the esteemed Assistant Chief. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found solace in fishing, hunting, and teeing off on the golf course, reveling in the beauty of nature and its many wonders. His musical talents shone through as he strummed his bass guitar, filling the air with harmonious melodies, and his knack for capturing the world through photography was a testament to his artistic soul.
As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, he embarked on exhilarating journeys with dear friends, basking in the freedom of the open road. A lover of all things mechanical, Danny would often be found tinkering and fixing gadgets, showcasing his ingenuity and curiousity. His commitment to serving his country extended to the Arkansas Army National Guard, honoring his duty with unwavering dedication.
Danny's unwavering faith guided him throughout his life, with his presence gracing the 7th and Mueller Church of Christ where he found solace and community. His radiant spirit will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Georgia Rogers; adopted daughter, Sheyanne Barr; step-mom, Bonnie Rogers; sister, Debbie Arnett; brothers, Richard Rogers, Shane Huckabee, Mike Tibbs, and Kevin Tibbs; numerous nephews and nieces; and hundreds who call him friend. Danny's presence will be dearly missed. His memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Danny is preceded in death by his father, Amos Rogers; mother, Sally Aden; brother, Tim Tibbs; and special cousin, Kimmy Don Rogers.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5-8 PM at Heath Funeral Home. A funeral service in honor of his memory will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1 PM at Heath Funeral Home with Larry McFadden and Tim Wooldridge officiating. Danny will be laid to rest in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lanny Sims, Britt Arnett, Kenny Forbs, Steven Rawls, Ronnie Joiner, and Brady Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Snyder and the current and former members of the Paragould Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, Danny requested memorials be sent to Make-A-Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice.
As we gather to pay our final respects, let us remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Danny Wayne Rogers, a man whose spirit will forever illuminate our hearts.
