Daniel Carlton, 93, of Paragould, passed away Saturday at his residence. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a Purple Heart recipient. Daniel had a passion for music. He played steel guitar for years, and until recently, he played in a band with the Senior B.E.E.S. He also loved to fish for catfish. Daniel loved to garden, and he always had plenty of tomatoes. He was the son of the late Frank and Arra Carlton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Margaret; and siblings, Willard, Reuben, Robert, William, Muncie, Verna, and Cynthia.
Survivors include his sons, David Carlton of Paragould and Dwight Carlton of Pensacola, Florida; step daughter, Shirley Ann Cross; step son, Charles E. Warren; 5 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Wednesday from 10-11 am at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 11 with Rev. Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
