It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Brooks McKinnon Burr, who graced this world with his presence on May 29, 2026. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Brooks was a shining light whose spirit touched the hearts of everyone who knew him, even in his brief time with us.
From the very beginning, Brooks displayed a vibrant personality. He was spunky and sassy, a true little adventurer who wouldn't hesitate to kick and wiggle during his ultrasound scans, perhaps already showing his determination to take on the world. His mom and him shared many ice cream moments together, bonding over sweet treats and laughter. He had a special love for "The Little Engine That Could," embodying the same spirit of resilience and determination.
Brooks was cherished deeply by his loving parents, Megan and Payton Burr; grandmothers, Phyllis League and Virginia Burr; his great-grandmother, June Jadwin; his uncle, Aaron League; his aunt, Molly (Sidney) Simpson; and his big cousin, Crew Simpson; and very special fur siblings, Gracie, Abby, and Bauer. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and honorary aunts and uncles. Though Brooks may have only graced our lives for a fleeting moment, his impact will be felt for a lifetime.
Brooks was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, D.L. Jadwin; great-grandparents, Chester and Mary Burr; and grandfathers, Donald League and Charles Roler.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at Heath Funeral Home on June 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jacob Lindley officiating. Prior to the service, there will be a public visitation starting at 6:00 PM, for those who loved Brooks to come together to share in the love and memories that he left behind.
As a reflection of Brooks' bright and joyful spirit, we encourage everyone attending the service to wear blue in his memory. Let us celebrate the love he inspired and the brief but beautiful life he lived.
Rest in peace, sweet Brooks. You will forever be in our hearts.
