Bradley Ray "Brad" Porter, age 67, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Brad was born on April 9, 1959, in Rockford, Illinois, to Perry O. Porter and Donna J. Porter, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Cherokee Village, Hardy and Walnut Ridge Arkansas. Brad accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Brad graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1977 and went on to enjoy a successful 38-year career with the Arkansas Highway Department. He was known for his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to doing a job well.
Throughout the majority of his life, Brad enjoyed sports both as a participant and a fan. In his younger years he was athletic and enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports including football and basketball. One of his greatest joys was his son, Kirk, and attending the many basketball games he played while growing up. Brad also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his beloved stereo equipment, which he collected and enjoyed listening to for many years.
Those who knew Brad understood his relentless nature when pursuing a solution to a problem or exploring a new opportunity. When a subject captured his interest, he became a diligent student, reading extensively and immersing himself in learning everything he could about it.
Brad is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Kirk and Carly Porter of Paragould, Arkansas; his granddaughters, Perry and Pippa Porter; and his brother, Phillip Porter of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stan Porter.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Old Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Nelsonville, Arkansas, with Pastor Kirk Neugebauer officiating.
