Billy Davis

October 27, 1950 — July 7, 2025

Billy Lee Davis, a beloved husband, father, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on October 27, 1950, in Lake City, Arkansas, Billy was a proud member of the local community and dedicated his life to serving those around him.

Billy graduated from Dixie High School, laying the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and integrity. He became a valued employee in the glass manufacturing industry, retiring after 20 years with Arkansas Glass. Prior to this, he owned a tree trimming business where his passion for nature blossomed. Known for his remarkable green thumb, friends and family often claimed that he could plant a two-by-four and have a tree sprout from it, reflecting his deep connection to the earth.

On May 27, 2005, Billy married his truest love, Tammy. Their enduring partnership was marked by a shared affection for family and friends. Billy was deeply devoted to his wife, cherishing every moment spent together.

A proud veteran, Billy served in the United States Army, and his spirit of service carried forth into his life as a member of the Bard Free Worship. He had also previously served as a minister at Childress Free Worship. His faith inspired many, and he found joy in sharing his love for music, often singing and playing his guitar to uplift those around him.

Billy found great pleasure in the simple joys of life-hunting, fishing, and traveling to the beach and mountains. An avid gardener, he loved growing vegetables, planting trees, and nurturing grapevines, which brought joy to his family and friends.

Billy leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Tammy DeBoard Davis; sons, Billy Joe (Brittney) Davis of Paragould and Shawn DeBoard of Paragould; daughters, Christy (Michael) Smith of Jonesboro and Susie (Dennis) Hodge of Monette; sister, Mona Eaton; 8 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special friend, Judy Edgin; and countless friends and extended family who will hold him in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his parents, Omery and Roberta Davis; son, Billy "Tooter" Lee Davis II; and sister, Betty Bratton.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 3 PM at Heath Funeral Home. A time of visitation will follow until 5 PM, allowing all who knew and loved Billy to pay their final respects and celebrate a life well-lived.

Billy Lee Davis, you will be profoundly missed, but your memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing you.
