Beverly Ann Mayfield, a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 7, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on September 12, 1949, in Lake City, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Buzzard and Erma (Hopkins) Buzzard. Beverly's life was a testament to determination, love, and unwavering support for her family.
Beverly began her journey by marrying the love of her life, Paul Melburn Mayfield in Lake City. With fierce determination, she returned to high school to earn her diploma alongside one of her daughters-a proud accomplishment that set the tone for her lifelong pursuit of education. She went on to pursue her passion for nursing, first obtaining her LPN and then furthering her education to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Her dedication to her craft made her not only an excellent nurse but also a source of great comfort to those she cared for.
As a devoted mother, Beverly poured her heart into her family. She cherished her role of grandmother and great-grandmother, carrying the role of "Memaw" with great pride. She loved her family fiercely celebrating their achievements and supporting them in every endeavor. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her sense of humor brought light and laughter to all who knew her.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, J. Dean Hill, Paula (Dave) Hill, Denise Gardner, Nianna (Steve) Cobb, Chris Mayfield, and Shaun Mayfield; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Melburn Mayfield; her siblings, Genine Mayfield, Joseph Warren Buazard; and her-granddaughter, Jennifer Ward.
A service to honor Beverly's extraordinary life will be held at Life Church Paragould on April 10, 2026, beginning at 1 PM with Pastor James Warbington officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
While we mourn her passing, we choose to celebrate Beverly's strength, compassion, and the profound impact she made on those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, we find peace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her love in Heaven. Her memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
