Betty Jean Sears Presson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on October 6, 1930, in Marmaduke, Arkansas, Betty spent her life embodying the values of love, service, and devotion to her family and faith.

Betty dedicated herself to her profession as a cosmetology instructor at the Paragould Beauty School. Her passion for beauty and style began long before her formal career, as she loved to give perms and hairstyles to neighbors, nurturing her artistic talents from a young age. Betty took great pride in her work, often reflecting her creativity and dedication in the lives she touched.

Betty was a charter member of New Haven Baptist Church, where she and her husband actively served the community and spread their love for the Lord. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was known for her generosity, showing kindness to all she encountered. An avid gardener, Betty found joy in nurturing her flowers, often sharing her blooms with friends and family. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing clothes for her children and filling their lives with love through her craftsmanship in every stitch.

Betty is survived by her four children: Kathie (Joe) DiMaggio, Karla (Richard) Chosich, Ann (Ron) Pickney, and Ashley Presson. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kenyon Huggins, Erin (Roger) Dickey, Grant (Mallory) Pickney, Brooke (Micah DeLacy) Morgan, Brian (Erica) Presson, Jared (Meagan) Pickney, and Brittany (Jeremy) Edgar; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply loved by their grandmother.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Sears; mother, Dahlia Sears; husband, James Presson; and brother, Don Sears.

Funeral services for Betty will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. A public visitation will commence at Heath Funeral Home at 11:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at Linwood Cemetery. Jared Pickney and Ron Pickney will be officiating. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Ashley Presson, Brian Presson, Eli Presson, Jeremy Edgar, Micah DeLacy, and Roger Dickey.

Betty Jean Sears Presson leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
