Artis Junior Roush

Artis Junior Roush, 77, of Paragould, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Artis was born in Stonewall on May 18, 1946, to the late Jones and Maudie Box Roush. Artis married Wilma Morgan on July 1, 1968. He spent his working life as a farmer, but the rest of his life was spent fishing. Artis could often be found on the Cache River on the hunt for catfish. He was a talented musician and played with his family for years. Artis was a Christian and a member of Beech Grove Church of the Nazarene. Artis was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jazzy Miller; sisters, Mae Russom and Inez Roush; brothers, Jones Edward Roush and Vodie Ray Roush.

Artis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wilma; children, Gayla (Ron) Miller of Paragould, Gaylon Russell (Patricia) Roush of Lafe, Frances Cook of Paragould, and Amy (Josh) Morris of Hardy; grandchildren, Breanne (Ashton) Knowles of Columbus, Ohio, Dillon Russell Roush of Lafe, Chase Morris of Hardy, and Brayden Morris of Hardy; brothers, James Roush, Dan Roush, Jerry Roush, and Dennis Roush; sisters, Audrey Walls and Linda Gale Dover; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 17, 2023, from 6-8 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Saturday at 11 AM at Heath Funeral Home with Audrey Walls and Dennis Roush officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers are Calvin Russom, Bernie Russom, Joe Riley, Terry Wayne Roush, Jimmy Howard, and Dillon Russell Roush.
