With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Eugene "Andy" Lamar, who left us on February 17, 2026, at the age of 36. Born on November 12, 1989, in Paragould, Arkansas, Andy was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a resident of Paragould for his entire life.
As a self-employed construction worker, Andy was known for his dedication and hard work. Although he did not complete formal schooling, his hands-on skills and passion for building left a lasting impact in his community. Andy had a zest for life, cherished his time spent outdoors hunting and fishing, and loved the thrill of riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes. He found joy in listening to music, playing with his dog, Blacktip, and embracing moments of solitude.
Family was everything to Andy. He is survived by his father, Anthony Lamar; mother, Christy Lamar; brothers, Justin, Brandon, and a sister, Chelsea; as well as his sisters, Krista (Zach) Shipman and brother-in-law Chris Hall. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews, Landen Shipman, Dallas Gillett, and Ryker Hall, and his nieces, Alayna and Maicey Gillett. He was further cherished by his step-father, Michael Schuler, and his beloved grandmother, Deborah Rettig.
Andy was preceded in death by his brother, Tyler Lamar; aunt, Laura Lamar; uncle, Jody Lamar; grandfather, Loyd Lovell; grandmother, Della Lamar; grandfather, Benny Lamar; and his best friend who was as close as a brother, Wesley Schuler.
Known for his playful spirit, Andy was always ready to make others laugh, especially teasing his nephews and nieces with his jokes and antics. His laughter and love will be profoundly missed.
Funeral services will be held on a date yet to be announced at Ramer's Chapel Methodist Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Andy's life. Bro. Marlin Ray will be officiating. A burial will follow, honoring his memory and the joy he brought to so many. We invite all who knew him to join us in remembering the wonderful man that Andy was and the legacy he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Andy. You will be forever in our hearts.
