Winnifred "Winnie" Laveta Edwards

January 11, 1923 — October 7, 2015

Winnifred Laveta Edwards, 92, Paragould, died Wednesday. Winnie was retired from Emerson Electric and was of the Nazarene faith. She loved to crappie fish, cook, and enjoyed being with her family. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Ramsey and Burla Lois Breckenridge Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Houston Edwards, brothers, Galen, Freddie and Walen Smith, sister, Jovene Smith, step-grandson, Jay Brewer.

She is survived by her, son Ken Edwards (Kathy), Cherokee Village; granddaughter, Kristin Patterson (Chris), Paragould; great-grandson, Jagger Moss; great-granddaughter, Marley Patterson; brother, Jimmie Smith (Augie), sister-in-law, Wanda Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00-10:00 AM, Saturday with the funeral following at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Royce Boling officiating. Intement will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jeff and Isaac Martin, Jeremie, Drew and Hunter Smith, Ernie Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be: Franklin Diggs, Jacob and Scott Giles, Gerald Orr, Gary Renfro, Marty Blankenship, Jerry Cross. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
