Wilma Lucille Whitlock

Wilma L. Whitlock, 84, of Paragould, passed away February 26th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was of Baptist faith. She retired from Ely Walker and Belk Simpson. Wilma was dedicated to her work, co-workers, and friends. She was always ready to listen and help others in need. During retirement she loved spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Wilma was preceded in death by parents Shelley and Edna White Cooper, infant brother Shelley Cooper Jr., her husband Glenn H. Whitlock, infant son Sammy Whitlock, and son-in-law Jerry Hayden. She is survived by her children, one son, Gary and Neicy Whitlock of Jonesboro; three daughters, Dianne and Jack James, Beverly and Dean Wooldridge, and Susan and Harlon Wood all of Paragould; grandchildren, Shelley and Kirk Brinkley, Stephanie and Justin Garner, Kimberly Wooldridge, Sara Wood all of Paragould, Zachary and Kim Whitman of Guam, Andrea Whitman of Jonesboro; great grandchildren, Halle Brooke Brinkley of Paragould, Caleigh Nichole Whitman of Guam, Serenity Hopkins, Jaylon, and Alex Whitman of Jonesboro. Wilma is also survived by one brother, Bill and Linda Cooper, and one sister, Glenda and Adrian Parker of Paragould; Brother-in-law, Edmond H. Hurst of Nimmons, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hurst, Jeremy Parker, Toby Parker, Todd Cooper, Kirk Brinkley, Justin Garner, Skylar Rowe, and Jeremy McClelland. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Whitman, David Edwards, Cody Ives, Kevin Edwards, Alex Ives, Ryan LaRue,Blake LaRue and Quinton Hurst. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated Friday, 2:00 PM, at Heath Colonial Chapel with Dr. Adrian Parker and Reverend Phillip LaRue officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
