Walter "Doc" Swink

HEATH FUNERAL HOME Walter “Doc” Swink went to his heavenly reward March 2nd. He was born in Paragould January 12, 1916 to the late Henry Swink and Ida Bell Dooley Swink. He was surrounded by his four loving children. After retiring from farming he devoted his time to gardening, his flowers and raising Beagles and rabbit hunting. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church many years where he served as Deacon and was a friend to many. In earlier years he was a Sunday School Teacher to young people. He is survived by his four children, Nina Swink of Overland, Missouri, Gary of Humboldt, Tennessee, Myron of Stafford, Virginia, and Alicia Robinson of Paragould; six grandchildren; thirteen great and eight great great grandchildren; a sister, Rachel Staggs; and brother, Marce Swink of Paragould and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Vendetta, his wife of 63 years, three brothers; six sisters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverends Lindell Staggs and Joe Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
