Virginia Fay Biggs

August 25, 1925 — February 6, 2015

Virginia Fay Biggs, 89, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. She was born August 25, 1925, in Paragould, to the late Bill and Rudy DeVoll. She retired from First National Bank in Paragould after many years of service. She was a life long member of First United Methodist Church in Paragould and was involved with the United Methodist Women organization. She was a member of the Widow Support Group, where she served as President. She was an avid baseball fan with her favorite teams being the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals. Virginia had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. She and her late husband, Perry, loved to fish and were longtime ASU basketball season ticketholders. She is survived by one son, Gary Biggs (Beverly) of Paragould; two grandchildren, Jeremy Biggs (April) of Paragould and Cory Biggs of Little Rock; one great-grandchild, Ava Biggs of Paragould; sister, Jesalee Herren (Bob) of Englewood, Ohio; sister-in-law, Virginia Hammond (Bill) of Paragould; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Perry Biggs; her parents; and her brother, Marlin DeVoll. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Paragould beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Fleming officiating and Heath Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church in Paragould. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Danny Futrell, Ronnie Freeman, Chuck Palmer, Mike Simmons, Ronnie Wright and Kelly Wright. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to First United Methodist Church, 404 West Main Street, Paragould, Arkansas 72450 or Mission Outreach of Northeast Arkansas, P.O. Box 1122, Paragould, Arkansas 72451.
