Sarah Helen Meares

Sarah Helen Meares, 74, of Arbyrd, passed away Saturday at her home. She homemaker and of the Pentecost faith. Helen was the daughter of the late Ted and Glenoda Box. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Darrell "Tuffy" Meares, Sr., one brother, and three sisters.

Helen is survived by her sons, Darrell Meares, Jr. of Lafe and Tony Meares of Arbyrd; grandchildren, Darrell "Bubby" Meares III, Pamela Meares, Sonya Meares, and Alycia Meares; and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Wednesday at 2pm at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial is in New Friendship Cemetery. Pallbearers are Johnnie Forbs, Bubby Meares, Joseph Bateman, Steven Yancy, Trent Davis, and Kody McCombs.
