Ruby Mae House

Ruby Mae House, 93, of Paragould, passed from this life on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.She was born in Schugtown in Craighead County on May 18, 1929, to the late Arthur "Scotch" and Hassie Wineland. Ruby married Frank "Elkin" House on November 23, 1946. They remained married for 67 years until his passing on February 10, 2014. Ruby spent over 20 years as a cook at Oak Grove School. She was known to make the best yeast rolls. She also made a family favorite at every reunion: dumplins. Ruby enjoyed quilting and crafting. She loved yard work and gardening. It was said there was never a weed in her yard or garden because she picked them before anyone could notice. Ruby continued to mow her yard with a push mower until she was 90 years young. She was member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church, and Ruby loved her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hassie Wineland; husband, Frank House; grandson, Timothy Paul House; brothers, Otis, Odell, Dennis, and Charles Wineland; and sister, Patricia Wineland.


Ruby is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Gary) Burgess of Trumann; sons, Larry (Loretta) House and Darron (Phyllis) House of Paragould; grandchildren, Camille (Brete) Garland of Fayetteville, Kyle (Melissa) Shrader of Bay, Brandon (Heather) Shrader of Trumann, Tracy (Justin) Davis of Trumann, William (aka:Bubba) Burgess of Trumann, Thomas J. "T.J." House of Paragould, Hailey (Jeremy) Mooneyhan of Reyno, Valerie Herron of Mt. Home, Anna Bowser of Corning, Derek (Taylor) House of Madison, Wisconsin, and Danual House (Sergio Licona) of Memphis; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Marion, Art, and Raymond Wineland; and sisters, Fay Bryant and Diane Rodgers.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Tuesday at 10am at Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Cody Gray officiating. Burial is in Greene County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Derek, Danual, and T.J. House, Kyle and Brandon Shrader, Camille Garland, and Sergio Licona. Memorials may be sent to Camp Ground United Methodist Church, 1976 Greene 628 Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
