Mildred Jones

Mildred Jones, 95, of Kennett and formerly of Walcott, passed away Friday at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett. She was the daughter of the late Bessie and John Chappel. Mildred spent many years working at Jones Freeze King in Walcott and was also a housewife. In her free time, she enjoyed ceramics, crafts, and refinishing furniture. She was of the Church of Christ faith and attended both Walcott Church of Christ in Walcott and Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett. Also preceding her in death is her husband, L.V. "Luther Dobe" Jones; son, Joe V. Jones; brothers, John Mutt Chappel, Leon Chappel, and Clarence Chappel; sisters, Mary Emma Stevens, Lavonda Marie Branham, Floy Pratt, and Gladys Johnson; and son-in-law, Charlie Davenport.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Davenport, of Kennett, Missouri; granddaughter, Carol (Danny) Bradshaw, of Holcomb, Missouri; great grandsons, Dylan Bradshaw and Stephen Bradshaw, both of Holcomb, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Jean C. Jones, of Paragould; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Sam Becerra officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Hall, Dalton Hall, Fred Adams, Eddie Anderson, Donald Ray Branham, and Darrell Dickson. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Dylan and Stephen Bradshaw.
