Lillie Belle Gates

Lillie Sanders Gates, 83, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022. She was born on August 19, 1938, to Earl and Eula Sanders. Lillie was a very gifted artist, and she loved to draw. She was a cook at Couch's Bar-B-Que. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing and taking care of her dachshunds. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Gates; brother, David Sanders; and sister, Mary Esther Shubert.

Survivors include her five daughters, Linda (Danny) Peyton of Paragould, Pat Powers of Cardwell, Teresa (Rick) Clark of Paragould, Mary (Joe) Young of Paragould, and Janet (Monty) Stallings of Paragould; seventeen grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister, Bonnie Long of Colorado.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2pm with Joe Young officiating. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons and great grandsons. Burial is in Greene County Memorial Gardens.
