Johnny William Carter

May 3, 1947 — January 19, 2017

Johnny Carter, 69, of Paragould, passed away Thursday at his home. He was retired as a terminal manager with Jones Truck Lines and Three-Way Transfer. Johnny was a member of East Side Baptist Church. He always loved to deer hunt, and he was an avid drummer. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Songsmen Quartet. Johnny was the son of the late Jimmy and Violet Carter.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kay; son, Shane Carter of Little Rock; granddog, Ben; sisters, Lowanda Coleman and Sharon Hill, both of Paragould; sister-in-law, Melba Wheeler of Saint Peters, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to St. Bernard's Home Health, especially Delaine Lagrone, Jami Todd, and Vickie Moylan.

Visitation is Saturday from 1-2 PM at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral begins at 2 PM with Rev. Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial is in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Rhode, Ronald Holt, Donald Holt, Ryan Wheeler, Johnny Goodman, Mike Spain, and Bill Reinheart.
