John Earl Clifton

John Earl Clifton, 86, of Evening Star, was at home with his family when God called him to his heavenly home Friday. He was a retired farmer and of the Church of Christ faith. He loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed to farm, quail hunt, and ride horses. He was quite the prankster. If you ever went to see him, he always had a "Get on in here!" to welcome everyone. John Earl was the son of the late John Ayers and Velora Vines Clifton. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Alma Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Wanda Lou Clifton of the home; daughters, Taun (Jimmy) Smith, Stanford, and Lynn (Archie) Henson, Evening Star; son, Keith (Becky) Clifton, Evening Star; grandchildren, Jonatha Clark, Shane (Liz) Henson, Taunya (William) Sisco, Shannon Henson, Clifton (Kristen) Orick, Shayla (Shannon) King, Megan Clifton Mitchell, and John Clifton; great grandchildren, Colby Henson, Colten Henson, Beau Sisco, Tanya Curry, Cord Henson, Jocelyn Clark, Shealynn Clark, Tristan Sisco, Emily Clark, Chase Orick, Archlyn King, Jaiden Henson, Chet Orick, Jaxson Mitchell, Ayresten King, and Lincoln Baird; great great grandchildren, Laney Curry, Aria Henson, Cope Sisco, Cinch Henson, Aubrey Henson, Rigney Sisco, Reinslynn Henson; brother, Vernon Clifton, Wilmot; and sister, Clara (Bill) Lovelady, Beech Grove.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Monday at 1 pm at Heath Colonial Chapel with Richard Durham and Art Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens. John Earl's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, Don Johnson, Richard Durham, Ronnie Vines, and Jess Brown. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
