Jimmy Edwin Gazaway, 73, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away peacefully Saturday, June 29, 2019 in Paragould. He was born December 18, 1945 in Evening Star, Arkansas to Hardy and Lola Gazaway. He was of the Church of Christ faith, and he served in the United States Army from 1964-1966. He retired from Emerson Electric after 36 years. He also owned and operated Jim Gazaway Electric and was a home builder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy O. and Lola M. Gazaway of Evening Star; a brother, Eugene O. Gazaway of Knoble; and a daughter, Lindsey Rebeccah Gazaway of Paragould.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte (Heritage) Gazaway, of the home; sons, Jimmy D. (Jessica) Gazaway and Grant E. Gazaway, and one granddaughter, Julianna Grace Gazaway, all of Paragould; four sisters, Deloris James of Little Rock, Aletta Russom Leathers and Carolyn Weaver of Paragould, and Linda Cato of Delaplaine, Arkansas.
He was a beloved husband, father, and papa, and likewise he loved his family dearly. He loved to work and was a faithful provider for his family. He was smart, talented, and a people person. He also enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting, and music. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Monday, July 1, beginning at 5:00 p.m. for family and 6-8 for the public. The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home officiated by Topper Killough. A private family burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Paragould. Pallbearers will be: Jerry Hancock, Johnny Heritage, Tommy Haynes, Dewayne Cooper, Allen Russom, and Larry Saffell. Memorials may be sent to Children’s Home of Paragould
