James Larry Faulkner

December 8, 1940 — September 30, 2016

James Larry Faulkner, 75, of Walcott, Arkansas, passed away at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro on September 30, 2016. He was born in Beech Grove, Arkansas, on December 8, 1940, to Littleton “Bit” and Eunice Grace Felty Faulkner. He was a member of and a Deacon at Stanford Baptist Church. Larry’s hobbies included collecting coins, hunting arrowheads, and duck hunting. However, one of his greatest passions was his grandchildren. He always enjoyed attending their activities and events, and he loved every second spent with them. Larry was a Mason and a member of Paragould Masonic Lodge #368. He is a graduate of Stanford High School, Class of 1959. He also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Arkansas State University. For 26 years, he was an accountant and purchasing agent at Monroe-Tenneco Automotive. He was an eight-year veteran of the United States Air Force with a rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in Turkey during the Vietnam era.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fay Lenderman Faulkner; son, Anthony Faulkner; grandson, Darin Russell; and brother, Donald Faulkner.

Surviving Larry is his wife, Linda G. Faulkner of the home; daughter, Tina Russell of Paragould; son, Chris (Kathy) Faulkner of Walcott; daughter-in-law, Dana Faulkner of Paragould; grandchildren, Hunter Faulkner of Paragould, Jordan Faulkner of Fayetteville, Devin Clemmer of Paragould, Mallory Russell (Chase) Causey of Johnson, AR, Zoe Russell of Paragould, and Gunner, Hayden, and Cade Faulkner of Walcott; sisters, Linda “Katy” Garner and Jackie (Bobby) Henson of Paragould; Linda’s children, Joey Kennedy of Bentonville, AR, Casey (Brody) Walker of Searcy, AR, and Kilee (Johnny) Fogleman of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Trey (Kortney) Crockett, Kaylei and Madison Kennedy, Ashlyn and Kaytlyn Walker, Kyle, Kennedy, and Cody Fogleman; and great granddaughter, Presley Crockett. Larry is also survived by his dog, Clyde, and a large extended family and a host of friends.

Larry, a lifelong resident of Greene County, was very civic minded and had a passion for serving his community as a Justice of the Peace on the Greene County Quorum Court for 8 years. He represented District 11 from 1997-2004. He also served on the Greene County Education Board for many years. He was a member of American Legion #17, past member of the Greene County Community Fund Board, Greene County Democratic Central Committee, and the Crowley’s Ridge Development Council.

The family will receive friends at Heath Funeral Home Sunday evening, October 2, 2016 from 6-8. Funeral service will be at Heath Colonial Chapel at 11:00 a.m Monday, October 3, 2016. Officiants will be John Fleming, Paragould First Methodist Church, and Adam Bruton, Stanford Baptist Church. Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Faulkner, Gunner Faulkner, Hayden Faulkner, Cade Faulkner, Devin Clemmer, Chase Causey, Kyle Fogleman, Cody Fogleman, Dakota Garner, Remington Garner, Martin Mitchell, and Alex Markum. Memorials may be sent to the Coach Anthony Faulkner Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Paragould Athletic Booster Club, P.O. Box 1104, Paragould, AR 72451.
