Hugh Allen Slater, Sr.

Hugh Allen Slater, Sr. 80, of Paragould, died Saturday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was retired from the U. S. Army, retired from St. Bernard’s Medical Center and also served in the Air Force. He was a member of the Newton Street Church of Christ. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elouise Slater; son, Phillip Slater; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include sons, William Slater and Bobby (Kimber Lynn) Slater both of Baytown, TX, Tony Slater of Lake Charles, LA, Allen Slater of Paragould, Owen Slater of Lake City, AR and Pat Slater of Paragould; daughters Lydia Dofflemyer of Glenmora, LA, Shelly (Mitchell) Smith of Paragould and Ella Jones of Paragould. Eleven grandchildren , three great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Josh Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
