Gwendolyn Elizabeth Rogers (Nutt), 86, of San Antonio , Texas, died September 21, 2012. Born in Paragould , Arkansas, October 26, 1925 to her parents, William Granville Nutt and Adaline Bowlin Nutt, she began as a child, what would become a way of life for her, that of continual travel. She graduated from Paragould High School in 1943 and went on to further her education at the University of Arkansas , where she received her B.A. in Home Economics . While at college she met and married William Frank Rogers of Newport Arkansas. They then moved to Holland Missouri where they taught school for a year. During the Korean War in 1950 Mrs. Rogers' husband entered the Air Force and graduated from Officers Candidate School as a second lieutenant. Thus began Mrs Rogers life as a military officers wife for the next thirty years. Throughout General Rogers career they were stationed and traveled extensively all over the world. Just a few of those many locations included living in Okinawa, Tokyo , England and Germany twice. Mrs. Rogers had many interests : gourmet cooking, reading, history , art and travel. She was a woman of great natural grace and wit . She will be missed enormously by those who knew her. She is survived by her two daughters, Valkrye Brumby of San Antonio, Texas, Charissa LaCava of Newport Rhode Island and a granddaughter , Arian Brumby of Austin , Texas. Also survived by her, are two sons-in-law, Jack Brumby of San Antonio , Texas and Randy LaCava of Newport, Rhode Island. There will be a graveside service held on Monday, October 1, Linwood Cemetery, in Paragould at 1:00 PM. Heath Funeral Home will be in charge of services. Reception held at The White House, 611 Court Street in Paragould.
