Glen Fredrick Evans, 85 of Paragould passed from this life on Monday, August 10, 2009. He was born June 16, 1924, in St. Francis, AR. He was retired from the Arkansas Employment Security Division after 21 years of service. He had previously served as Deputy Greene County Clerk for two years, then was elected Greene County Clerk from 1961-1964. His military service was in the Navy which included time during WWII. He had been very involved in civic activities which included many years of service with the Kiwanis Club where he served as President in 1964. He was a member of the Paragould Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Mary Shumate Evans and two sisters , Marie Bateman and Reva Beeler. Survivors include his wife Earlene Stallcup Evans of the home; son, Charles Evans of Paragould; daughter, Teresa Edwards of Judsonia, AR; brother, Paul Evans of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Rena Snow of Rector, Francis Rogers and Ruby Boyd of Paragould. Grandchildren, Josh, Tim and Jeremy Edwards, Melissa Greer, favorite granddaughter, James and Tommy Brashears. Eight great grandchildren. Glen deeply loved his friends and family and had a great love for the families of Paragould Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday at the Heath Colonial Chapel with Revs. Brian Johnson and Eddie Gene Wright officiating. Burial will follow in New Friendship Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital.
