Gladys Summitt, 102, of Cardwell, MO, died Saturday, May 5, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born December 1, 1909 in Haleyville, Alabama the daughter of the late Jesse and Kitty Draper Lambert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Summitt, brothers, Morris and Curlee Lambert, sisters, Esther McClearn and Bernice Bramlett. Gladys was a homemaker and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in Cardwell. She enjoyed working crossword and wordsearch puzzles, birdwatching and reading her bible. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law: Mary Jo Fry of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jeanne and Bob Peel of Cardwell; sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Loetta Summitt of Canton, TX, Jesse and Gail Summitt, of Paragould; sisters: Charolette Eubanks of Paragould, Kathleen Crow, Maxine Sifford of Cardwell, MO, Beanie Barrett of Leachville; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, with David Flanery officiating. Interment will follow at Cardwell Cemetery, Cardwell, MO. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Rob Summitt, James Summitt, Bill Fry, Rick Fry, Doyle Summitt, Cliff Cupp, Craig Cupp, Gary Cupp, Stormy Peel and Andy Peel. Memorials may be sent to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1138 E. Matthews Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401 and Children's Home of Paragould, 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
