Gertrude Garland

Gertrude Garland passed into the presence of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on April 17, 2012. She was born 98 years ago in Cross County, Arkansas. She resided in Green County for most of her life, where she met and married her husband of 59 years, Joe M. Garland, who predeceased Gertrude in 1990. At that time, she moved to Seattle, Washington area. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Hackman, her grandson, Jon Treat (wife, Pam) of Michigan, her sister, Sue King of Hot Springs, her brother-in-law, John Garland, of Missouri, as well as her extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends in Arkansas and Washington. Visitation will be at Heath Funeral Home, 321 W. Garland St., Paragould on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at Pruett’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Pruett’s Chapel Rd, Paragould on Thursday at 11:00 am. Mrs. Garland was a member of Pruett’s Chapel Church for more than 60 years. Following the service, burial will be at Pruett’s Chapel Cemetery, Finch Road, Paragould.
