Eddie Joe Ellis

Eddie Joe Ellis, 66, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday at St. Bernard's Medical Center. He spent over 43 years in the construction industry, 25 of those as a superintendent for Forcum and Lannom Contractors. He was involved in the construction of ARI in Marmaduke and Paragould and Southworth in Manila, as well as with projects for Caterpillar, Behr Paints, Delta Faucet, Papa John's, Owen's Corning, Skil, Charms, and many other manufacturers across the southeast United States. Although construction was his career, it was also his hobby. He could build anything he wanted. Eddie was also a devout family man as he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was the son of the late James and Pearl Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his son, Joey Ellis, and half-brother, Charles Sims.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karen Ellis; children, Rick (Amy) Ellis of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Gary (Christy) Ellis of Morrison, Tennessee, Jennifer (Chris) Bateman of Paragould, and Timothy (Gary Holt) Ellis of Paragould; adopted son, Trent Dorris of Paragould; grandchildren, Alex Ellis, Trevor Bateman, Blake Ellis, Abigail Ellis, Karma Bateman, Emma Bateman, and Tanner Ellis; sister, Shirley Brock of Paragould; and brother, Mike (Jodene) Ellis of Hooker.

Visitation is Friday evening from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Saturday at 3pm at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Justin Ethridge officiating. Burial is in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rick Ellis, Gary Ellis, Trent Dorris, Chris Bateman, Alex Ellis, Trevor Bateman, and Blake Ellis.
