Dr. Omer E. Bradsher, formerly of Paragould, 81, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at his home in Senath. He was born October 7, 1929 in Little Rock, AR the son of the late Omer Ethridge, Sr. and Ida Carpenter Bradsher. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Howerton Bradsher, brother, Robert Bradsher, sisters, Martha Joffe and Betty Montgomery. He practiced family medicine in the Paragould area for over 40 years. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock in 1958. His undergraduate education was completed at Hendrix College. Dr. Bradsher served his community at the local, state, and national levels. In the 1960's, he was heavily involved in both gubernatorial and presidential elections. He served as a delegate to the 1968 Republican National Convention. In the 80's and 90's, he served on the Greene County Quorum Court. Dr. Bradsher's wisdom and compassion reached many lives. His patients, co-workers and friends were all touched by his guidance and care. In his later years, his most cherished moments in his career were caring for homebound patients in their homes. He was a dedicated family man, a devout Christian, and was extremely proud of his birthplace and heritage. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church in Senath. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Bradsher of the home; children: Brad Bradsher of Little Rock, AR; Todd Bradsher of Peach Orchard, AR; Julia Bradsher of Kalamazoo, MI; Jana Bagwell of Vicksburg, MS; Regina Franks of Bastrop, LA; Randal Gibson of Senath, MO; Vickie Moylan of Paragould, AR; sister: Lucie Smith of Naples, Florida; special cousin, Freddie Webb Graham-Eller, fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Neal Avirette and Ron Dunavin officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
