Delmer Massey, Jr., 76, of Walcott, went to his heavenly home Monday at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Walcott Baptist Church. Delmer spent his life farming. He farmed rice and beans, but more importantly, he was a farmer of souls. He loved God, his family, his church, and farming. Delmer was the son of the late Delmer, Sr. and Stella Marshall Massey. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Linda of the home; sons, Joey (Lana) Massey, Brian (Tammy) Massey, and Brad (Sandy) Massey, all of Walcott, and Del (Natalie) Massey of Paragould; and grandchildren, Taren, Allie, J.C., Mabry, Cameron, Marlise, Gracelyn, and Brooklyn.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 at Heath Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life is Thursday at 11:00 AM at Walcott Baptist Church with Reverends Nathan Gramling and Greg Rainwater officiating. Burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Fender, Jr., Mike Cline, Marty Digman, George Beasley, Blain Gibbs, Tracy Murphy, and Rich Dumstorff.
