David Wayne Hobbs

October 16, 1954 — December 3, 2018

David Wayne Hobbs, 64, of Paragould, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 3rd, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and uncle. David was born in San Diego, California. He graduated from Hughes Springs High School in Hughes Springs, Texas in 1973. He worked at Foremost Dairy in Paragould until it closed. He then owned and operated a Gulf service station followed by a Chevron service station. David then went to work for Pannell Ford in the service department, eventually becoming the service manager. He spent seventeen years with Pannell Ford, now Glen Sain Ford. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and San Diego Charger fan. David came to know the Lord in August of 1991. He then married the love of his life, Gina, on October 4th of that year. David was the son of the late Charles Wayne Hobbs and Bonnie Deskins Hobbs Tyson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Hobbs; sister, Diane Hernandez; grandfather, Raymond Lee Hobbs; grandmother, Pearl Leatrice Hobbs; and fathers-in-law, James Vance and Bobby Parks.

David is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gina Hobbs; daughter, Jennifer Hobbs of Paragould; sons, Matthew (Lesley) Hobbs, Kirk (Carly) Porter, and Zachary Wayne (Hayley) Hobbs, all of Paragould; grandchildren, Amaya Seals, Harrison Hobbs, Bennett Hobbs, Marion Hobbs, and James Graham Hobbs; brother, Robert "Bobby" Hobbs; sisters, Millie Hobbs and Debbie Barrow; nephews, Robert Lee Hobbs, Jr., Daniel Hobbs, Robert Hernandez, and Jeremy Hobbs; nieces, Heather Hobbs, Courtney Cameon, Lindsay Pillow, Madison Seifert, and MaCall Johnson; great nieces, Gabby Lane, Holland Weeks, Harper Weeks, and Stella Seifert; great nephew, Jaxon Pittman; sister-in-Law, Kimber (Bruce) Johnson; and mother-in-law, Barbara Parks (Dennis) Scudder.

The visitation will be Wednesday night from 5-7 at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral is Thursday at 10am at Heath Colonial Chapel with Revs. Gerald James and Chuck DeVane officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Hobbs, Kirk Porter, Zachary Hobbs, Danny Ford, Curtis Hitt, and Mike Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Benson, Bryan Glenn, Joshua James, and Mike Ring. Please send memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
