She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Clara attended school at Cardwell and made lifelong best friends with many of her classmates. In her younger years she worked at Crowley’s Ridge College. She worked as vice president in banking at Security Bank and served on several bank boards. She worked in bank training and enlisted coworkers to film funny video skits such as, “The Cranky Customer”. Later, she worked in their family owned heat and air business in Memphis. Her southwestern decorated home in Germantown was known as ‘mi casa is su casa’ and provided wonderful memories for family and friends who stayed with her at ‘Jones’ Bed and Breakfast’.

Most important in remembering Clara, was how she lived her ‘dash’ the date between her birth and death. She was her family’s biggest fan. She was generous, gracious, thoughtful, compassionate, cheerful and selfless. She was a bumble bee in flight, sometimes she was Dora the Explorer. She was witty, sweet, fun and always had something good to say; a very giving person. She was short and sassy with class. She didn’t judge people and was an encourager to those she was around. She loved her lipstick, earrings and carrying her black purse. She was the prettiest, smartest and most talented sister (or so she said). She was the family photographer. She loved traveling in her later years. She thought that the Chateau, where she was living at, was a resort. She was loved by those who knew her. She had the gift of owning a room when she walked in, might have been the smile and the electric personality, but most likely how she made everyone feel that they were the center of attention, not her.

Most of all she was HAPPY and now she’s staying in the BEST resort that she will ever go to!
Polish your halo Clara!

The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau on the Ridge, Belle Meade and the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for their care.

In lieu of memorials, the family requests that each person pause and, by whatever means, express encouragement to someone special in their lives.

Due to Covid, there will not be a public visitation. The family respectfully requests a family only private graveside service under the direction of Heath Funeral Home.
