Charles (Charlie) W. Krosp III, 71, of Russellville, Alabama, formerly of Paragould, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, December 23, 2013. Charles was born on June 7, 1942 in Memphis, TN to Charles W. Krosp, Jr. and Marguerite (Bromley) Krosp. He later moved to Paducah, Kentucky and graduated from Paducah Tillman High School. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years where he received two purple hearts and numerous other accommodations while serving in Vietnam. He received top honors in Civil Air Patrol and top of his class A+ Air Force training. Charles worked for Arkla (Sunbeam) Inc. in Canada, Delaware, Indiana and Paragould where he earned the title of VP of Engineering. After his career with Arkla, Charles moved to Union City, Tennessee where he worked for DESA, Inc. The final step of his employment was in consulting in Russellville, Alabama where he ways still consulting on a new expansion at the time of his death. He was a former member of the Paragould Civil Club and the Collins Theater Board and was actively involved in Boy Scouts while in Paragould. He was currently a member of Cotton Flat Cruisers Car Club and was an avid Indian arrowhead hunter. His passion was buying and restoring old trucks and cars. Charles is survived by his mother Marguerite (Krosp) Boyd of Paducah, KY; daughter Kathy (Jack) Bowman of Walkersville, SC; three sons, Justin Krosp, Tim McCarty and Tommy McCarty, all of Paragould; brothers Richard (Maria) Krosp and Hartson Krosp both of Paducah. Grandchildren, Tara Pfaff and Casey Bowman of SC; Jackson and Kartlee McCarty, Kailyn and Brinx Krosp and Carmen Paulk all of Paragould and a great grandson, Levi Bowman of SC. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Walter Krosp, Jr.; step-father, Charlie Boyd; two sisters, Rita Kay Shinn and Patricia Hart. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-2:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Terry Songer officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. The family would like to offer special thanks to Mike Madden, Sam Scarborough, John Phillips and Mike Davis for all of their help and concern during this difficult time.
