Carolyn Bratton Haynes

March 10, 1942 — July 17, 2022

Carolyn Bratton Haynes, 80, of Paragould, passed from this life on Sunday, July 17, 2022. She was born on March 10, 1942, in Little Rock to the late Bob Sr., and Frances Kasper Bratton. After spending the early years of her life in Wynne, her family moved to Paragould, and Carolyn graduated from Paragould High School in 1960. She attended Memphis State University and graduated with both a Bachelor’s degree (BSE) and Master’s degree (MSE) in Education. Later, she attended Arkansas State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree (BSW) in Social Work. This is where she found her true calling. She spent 32 years as the Social Worker for Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was proud of her work and served the families she encountered with compassion and dedication. She truly had a servant’s heart. Carolyn was a charter member of the Greene County Humane Society. Over the years, she helped many animals find homes, and was the proud owner of many “rescue” cats and dogs. Her best friend was her dog, Peppermint Patti. She loved to read, to eat cheeseburgers, to watch rain storms, to wear denim shirts, and to collect poems and inspirational quotes. Carolyn attended All Saints Episcopal Church where she was confirmed on March 10, 1957, at the age of 15.
Carolyn is survived by one daughter, Staci Leigh Haynes Goodman and her husband Robert Keith Goodman, granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Goodman, and her brother Bob Bratton, Jr. (Debbie). She is also survived by her nieces, Meredith Bratton Holden (Scott) and family, and Melissa Bratton Rushton (Michael) and family, several cousins, and many special life long friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at All Saints Episcopal Church. Please drop in between 2:00-4:00 pm.
To honor Carolyn, please consider memorials to Best Friends Animal Society, All Saints Episcopal Church, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. It would please her most if you had your “rescue” pet spayed or neutered.
