Buddy Lee Mann, 94, of Paragould, died Thursday August 1st at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born April 15, 1925, to Melvin and Hattie (Bryson) Mann in Cardwell, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Melvin Duane Mann, Tommy Mann and Merle Mann. Sisters-in-law Eva Mann and Ellen Mann.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 72 years, Florine (Swafford) Mann; daughter Martha Trotter; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Brenda Mann; sister and brother-in-law Norma and John Addison and sister-in-law Velda Mann. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.
Buddy served in WWII (Army), Korean War (Marines)
He loved Gospel music and was a big part of his wife. He sang many years with the Gospel Quartet The Songsmen.
He retired as a mail carrier with the Paragould Post Office. He and Florine have been members of First Assembly of God since around 1948. Buddy and Florine traveled around the US with family, friends and with the senior bees, but never found any place they loved as much as their Paragould.
A special thanks to beloved APRN Debbie Miles who kept him going for so many years.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Carl Friedel officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
