Amos Rogers, 84, Paragould, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born October 13, 1928 in Greene County, Arkansas, the son of the late Louie Rogers and Dellar Mae Ward Rogers Howard. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Bennie and Albert Rogers, Laverle, Doyle, and Frank Howard; sisters: Emily Rawls, Thelma Wiseman, Viva Andis, and Wanda Ward. Amos worked in maintenance for over 35 years at Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and was an active member of Seventh & Mueller Church of Christ. Amos was known to many as "Candyman." Amos is survived by his wife: Bonnie Rogers, of the home: brother: Carl Lee Rogers; sister: Bert Forbs; children: Danny and Georgia Rogers, Debbie Arnett, all of Paragould, Mike and Sharon Tibbs of Rogers, Richard Rogers and Janet Summers, Tim Tibbs and Alice Hill, all of Paragould, Kevin and Natalie Tibbs of Rogers, and close family friend, Jimmy Rousseau of Paragould, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 1:00 PM, Wednesday, with Larry McFadden and Michael Cox officiating. Pallbearers are the grandchildren: Ben Glenn, Jeremy Arnett, Britt Arnett, Aaron West, Chad Tibbs, Jackson Barr, Isaiah Tibbs, Cody Tilford, Derek Tibbs, and Michael Tibbs. Honorary pallbearers are his children and Jimmy Rousseau. Interment will follow at Mt. Home Cemetery.
