Hershel Ray Mikel, 80, of Paragould, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at his home. He was born July 12, 1931 in Stanford, Arkansas the son of the late Luther and Eula Garner Mikel. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Russell Mikel. He was retired from General Motors, was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Paige and Tim Calver; grandchildren: Tyler and Trevor Calver; brother and sister-in-law: Radus and Shirley Mikel; sister: Argentine Stearns, all of Paragould; nephews and nieces: Keith and Paula Mikel, Craig Mikel, Cory Mikel, Brenna Holland, and Shane Mikel.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, at Heath Funeral Home. His life will be celebrated at Heath Colonial Chapel, 11:00 AM, Monday, with Rev. Everett Isom officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim Calver, Tyler Calver, Trevor Calver, Cory Mikel, Shane Mikel, Craig Mikel, and Keith Mikel.
