or centuries white doves have “symbolized” the Holy Spirit, hope, love, peace and the soul. A ceremonial white dove release provides an exceptionally beautiful moment in time for family and friends to express to their departed loved one their farewells, prayers and love. The ceremony allows the family to say, “Goodbye for now” and a sense of healing as the doves ascend into the sky, and fly away into the heavens. The poignant “symbolism” of the ceremony is a powerful tribute to your loved one, and a cherished memory for all who share in the experience.
At the visitation, there will be a dove in a beautiful cage, placed close to your loved one, representing a guardian angel that is watching closely over your loved one.
Then at the conclusion of a graveside service or at the memorial location, the family is placed by the softly cooing doves, which are in a beautifully decorated chapel and baskets, and then a poetic explanation is read and afterwards, music begins, and while being played, the family is cued by the dove release coordinator to open the chapel and baskets.
A single white dove, “symbolizing” your loved one’s spirit, is released. The spirit dove then joins a flock of three doves, that represent Angels (The Angel of Love, The Angel of Peace and The Angel of Hope) or the Trinity (The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), and after the four doves join together, they make the spiritual flight home.
Our sincere heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. It is our prayer that our gift of the doves helps you find peace and comfort at this most difficult time.
